Dollar Democracy in Action

You pay for the government.
Shouldn’t you have a say in how it spends your money?

We pay trillions in taxes every year and we’ve never had a real say in how the money gets spent. We vote for representatives. They write closed-door budgets. We watch from the sidelines.

Taxpoints fixes that. You tell us how you think your tax dollars should be spent — across every major area of federal spending — and we hold your answer up against what Congress actually does. The gap between the two is the whole story.

Two ways to vote, both free: a 5-minute Quick Vote, or an Advanced version where you allocate 10,000 points across the entire budget.

Why Taxpoints exists

There’s a gap between what Americans want from their government and what they’re getting. Americans now believe 59 cents of every federal tax dollar is wasted — the highest level ever recorded (Cato Institute, 2025). That frustration is near-universal, and it has never had a structured, measurable outlet.

Taxpoints exists to give it one. Every citizen gets a clear way to say how they want their tax dollars spent. We hold that up against what Congress actually does. The data is public. The voice is yours. And the deeper we go, the harder it becomes to look away.
